Stabilizer
Stabilized paths, driveways, event and parking areas are an affordable and aesthetically pleasing alternative to concrete, asphalt, pavers and other hardscape materials. Stabilizer binds and locks crushed stone screenings to provide a durable natural aggregate surface that will more readily resist the erosive effects of weather and traffic. This process is water-activated.
Stalok
Stalok Paving Products are the next generation of Paving Alternatives. Stalok combines natural crushed stone with a combination of Engineered Polymers to produce this versatile and natural looking surface for Pathways, Patios and Driveways. This process is waterless.
Stalite Permatill Horticultural Aggregates
PermaTill Soil Conditioner
PermaTill restores and maintains essential pore space to compacted soils so that roots, air and moisture can move freely through the soil. PermaTill is the permanent soil conditioner for new and existing gardens, trees, shrubs, lawns and container mixes. It is also used for water gardens, hydroponics, orchids and bonsai.
VoleBloc Barrier for Protecting Roots and Bulbs
Installed like a moat around a castle, the coarse PermaTill particles discourage voles from tunneling through and damaging or devouring roots and bulbs. Roots grow into the PermaTill particles for air, moisture and stored nutrients. The PermaTill VoleBloc barrier is permanent and nontoxic.
Arboriculture Root Aeration Applications
For construction sites or similar situations where equipment traffic and material storage have severely compacted the root zone beneath existing trees. After remedial procedures such as vertical mulching, radial trenching or root invigoration with an air spade, backfill holes, trenches and incorporate root zone areas with Stalite or PermaTill Expanded Slate Aggregate to amend the damaged soil and prevent re-compaction.
Root Bridging for Protecting Existing Tree Roots
To enable tree preservation when paving for situations such as parking lots, sidewalks, driveways or streets are installed over existing tree root systems. Application of Stalite Expanded Slate Aggregate will prevent soil compaction and surface root damage, plus reduce the risk of heaving in the future.
Structural Soil for Urban Trees
For planting of new trees in paved environments. A customized blend of Stalite Expanded Slate Aggregate and Approved Sandy Clay Loam to support the weight of paving, yet allow proper aeration and drainage for long term root system survival, and features high Cation-Exchange-Capacity to attract and retain nutrients.
Structural Soil for Turf and Fire Lanes
Designed to withstand severe soil compaction and support the weight of heavy equipment; this customized blend of PermaTill Expanded Slate Aggregate and Approved Sandy Loam serves situations such as natural fire lanes or grass parking areas and athletic or recreational turf while creating an air-entrained environment for roof development.
Green Roof Planting Media
The latest research has shown that a blend of coarse sand, PermaTill Expanded Slate Lightweight Aggregate, and only 10-15% organic matter is best suited as an Intensive roof garden planting media; and a greater volume of PermaTill added for extensive systems. PermaTill is a necessary component to ensure the CEC level will prevent soil nutrients from leaching out of the sand as the organics decompose.
Bio-Retention Media For Storm Water Management
Soil media for Low Impact Development techniques to store, infiltrate, evaporate, retain and detain runoff are designed to have certain infiltration rates that will maintain plant growth while meeting the storage requirements. PermaTill Bio-Retention Media can meet these requirements and reduces the chance of clogging by providing additional pore spaces for roots, air and
CEC.
